The Religions in Kenya

There was a census of population in 2009. The report of this census show that 82.6% are calling themselves “Christians”, in detail there are 26 % Anglicans 23.3 % Catholics, 2.5 % Orthodox and members of the plenty African churches. 47.4% of the population are Protestants.
Only 1.6% of the Kenyans still believe in the traditional animism.
Especially at the southeast coast there are Sunnite Muslims living, almost 11.1% of the whole population. In the East of the country there are Muslim Somalis living. These is half of Muslims in Kenya.
0,1% of the population are Hindus and 4,6 % don´t believe in any religion.
