Youth Talk at Bethsaida Church at Nakuru
On the 1st of May 2015 we as Scripture Union were invited to a youth talk at der Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).

37 youngsters were coming. The church was inviting the youth from the neighbourhood. To get their attention they started with a volleyball game. Even me I was invited to play with them.

Robert was escorting Joseph and myself. After official welcoming, Joseph spoke about the “Role of a Christian Youth”.

He started my reading Colossians 3: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” He explained that the church at Colossea was warned by Paul because of wrong teachers. He said that our surrounding wants to involve us in a wrong way.

Therefore it is very important to ask yourself again and again: What on earth am I doing? And why I am doing that?

He asked the youngsters to trust completely in God. There is no way out. You can not blame your family because things in your life may go wrong. And God doesn´t care about your family background. He loves you and he cares for you like you are.

By speaking about his own family background he told them that God is able to make a man of God out from a boy who was just grown up by a single mother in easy life circumstances.

Joseph said that it is important that we live our lives that others are able to see that we are believers and that they may get saved by themselves. Our behaviour shall reflect God´s love.

Therefore it is very important to encourage each other as Christians and not to forget to praise and worship the Lord.

It is also important if you want to grow spiritually to choose the right friends and that you can share with them about your faith.

It is also important to be “clean” according to sexuality and not to practice sex before being married. He explained that when two people are doing sex they became one flesh and that after that there is an emotional connection between them till the rest of their lives.

After his preaching I got the opportunity to sing together with the youngsters.

After saying thanks to us, we said goodbye to them and left.
